A Study of Hemorrhoidal Treatment


Abstract
In practice then the injection is given into the submucous aerolar tissue in which the hem¡þorrhoidal veins lie, and the effect of the irritant solution is to produce an inflammatory reaction.
Clinically the fibrous induration at the site of the injection is the outstanding feature two or three weeks after the injection.
The indication for injection may be listed as follows.
(1) For all cases of first-degree internal hemorrhoid, un less there are special Contraindicatins.
(2) Most second degree internal hemorrhoids should be carefully considered for injection treatment.
(3) As a rule third-degree hemorrhoids Cannot be cured by injection treatment, but somet¡þimes injections will afford a very remarkable degree of tem-porary palliation.
We colleted 36 cases, which had been O.P.D. and injection managed during 1. 5 year from July, 1980 to December, 1981 in S.T. marks Hospital in London and Seoul National University hospital.
The results were as follows.
(1) The indication for injection was bleeding (100%), prolapse (5%), pruritus (25%), dischar¡þge(11%), pain(8%),
(2) The sex ratio is approximately male to female ratio was 2.6:1. A good results of male was a0 percent (13 cases).
A good results of female was 90 percent (9 cases.)
(3) After injection follow up results.
¨ç 58 Percent (21 cases) was no simptoms.
¨è 17 Percent (6 cases) was great improved.
¨é 14 Percent (5 cases) was mild improvement.
¨ê 11 Percent (4 cases) was unchanged.
